These Terms govern your use of Ascend's website and apps. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to them.

⚠ Climbing is dangerous. Ascend provides route information for reference only. Grades, conditions, access and hazards change. You are solely responsible for assessing risk, your own ability, and the safety of any climb. Always use proper protection and judgement.

1. Your account

You must provide accurate information and keep your credentials secure. You're responsible for activity under your account. One account is shared across the website and the Ascend apps.

We use Firebase Analytics / GA4, enabled by default, to understand product use and reliability across our apps and website. Authenticated events use your Supabase account UUID, as explained in our Privacy Policy.

2. Free access & the route meter

Website visitors may read three distinct route guides per IP address every 30 days. Shared networks share this allowance. Additional guides require an account and Pro membership. Signup does not reset the allowance. Climbing lines and annotations require Pro from the first route. Automated scraping, circumvention of the meter, or bulk extraction of route data is prohibited.

3. Ascend Pro subscriptions

Pro is an annual subscription. Pricing is shown at checkout in your local currency and processed by Stripe for website purchases. Every listed contribution unlocks the same Pro features. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each annual term unless cancelled. You authorise the applicable processor to charge your payment method on renewal. Cancellation and refunds are governed by our Refund Policy.

4. User content

You retain ownership of routes, photos and reviews you submit. By submitting, you grant Ascend a worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, display and distribute that content within the service. We may decline or remove content that is inaccurate, unsafe, infringing, or violates these Terms.

5. Affiliate links

Some gear recommendations contain affiliate links. We may earn a commission on qualifying purchases at no additional cost to you. This never influences which routes appear or how they are rated.

6. Acceptable use

Don't misuse the service, interfere with its operation, or attempt to access it by unauthorised means.
Don't post false route data, harassment, or unlawful content.
Don't resell or redistribute catalog data.

7. Disclaimers & liability

The service is provided "as is". To the maximum extent permitted by law, Ascend disclaims warranties and is not liable for injury, loss or damage arising from use of route information or the service. Nothing limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

8. Changes & termination

We may update these Terms; material changes will be notified. We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these Terms. You may delete your account at any time.

9. Governing law & contact

These Terms are governed by the laws of India, with courts in Bangalore having jurisdiction. Contact legal@ascendrocks.com.
